Dan Formosa set for keynote address at ASU’s Third Annual “Exposed” Design Symposium

Along with Michael Graves and Bruce Mau, Dan will present at ASU’s Exposed 2010 > Design Research in Action on April 7-10.

Dan Formosa, founding member of Smart Design, will be joining Michael Graves, reknowned architect and designer, and Bruce Mau, founder of Bruce Mau Design, on a panel discussion that kicks off the ASU School of Design Innovation’s annual symposium on design research, Exposed 2010. Additionally, Dan will conduct a workshop and present a public lecture during the three-day conference. The event has recently expanded its reach beyond graduate students of design to the larger business community.

About Exposed 2010:
The goal is to bring designers together with leaders in other fields who share a common vision of creating positive change for society. The event will explore design research’s ability to creatively respond to three critical challenges of our time:

SUSTAINABILITY: addressing environmental impacts and responsibilities of design
WELL-BEING: optimizing health and improving quality of life through design
PROSPERITY: designing for brighter economic futures

These three challenges will be examined through interaction with and discussion by a transdisciplinary panel of experts. Speakers, action teams, panel discussions, and workshops will center on developing/discussing actionable research and strategy for meeting these challenges from individual, community, and global perspectives.
